Dancers are different.
They just are.
They’re not better. They’re not quicker or stronger. They’re not more gifted or graceful. But they are different- because they choose to be.
But dancers are also the same.
The same as people who choose to challenge their own boundaries. The same as people who defy the constraints others may place around them. The same as people who envision achievements for themselves that right now may be technically impossible. But a dancer always finds a way to reach that impossible.
What makes a dancer isn’t their physical form or their natural ease with movement. They may not even appear to have these things in the way one would think they should. They may never look or move like other dancers. It doesn’t matter. What makes a dancer is their ability to stick with their art until they overcome it’s odds, until they defeat it, until they claim it as their own proudly, and until they create their own version of it’s legacy.
Dancing is a wondrous piece of one’s imagination brought to life: and all it ever needs is the dancer and their heart.
